Communications Department

Department Overview

The Davidson County School District Communications Department serves as the connection between the school system, parents, students, staff, and our community at large.

The Communications Department is responsible for directing and managing all district communications and public relations while ensuring strategies are in alignment with the district’s vision, mission and strategic plan.  Functions of the Communications Department include district-level internal and external communications, media relations, public and community engagement and the promotion of special events.

The Executive Director serves as an internal consultant to district-wide administration and departments on public relations issues, systematically collaborating with other staff members to ensure effective communication needs for district initiatives are met.

The Communications Department promotes district, school and student successes, builds parent and community support, and strengthens public confidence in the district as a whole.
