Summer Enrichment Reading (SER) Resources
Students enrolled in Honors and Advanced
Placement (AP) English I - IV are required to read an assigned anchor text, making annotations
(in the text or on a graphic organizer) as they read, respond to the text in essay format
(part one assessment), and complete a part two assessment (teacher design) at
the conclusion of a mini unit of a total text-set of related works. The essay is administered on the second day of the school
year either in class or after school, depending
on the semester in which students are enrolled in English. A
scoring Rubric is available for review and planning purposes.
