Northwest Elementary School is located in northern Davidson County, just 10 minutes south of Winston-Salem. Around 570 students are enrolled in the school this year. The PTO is very active and contributes to the school in all areas. Northwest is fortunate to have SmartBoards, document cameras, and projectors in all classrooms to promote 21st Century Learning. Dress Code
The Davidson County School Board passed a student dress code. Under the new code, the following attire is considered inappropriate for students: A. Clothing or attachments that are disruptive to the teaching learning process and are revealing, indecent, vulgar, or obscene. B. Clothing which promotes alcoholic beverages, or the use of controlled substances by words or symbols, or is of a disruptive nature. C. Clothing that contains profanity, nudity, depicts violence or is sexual in nature by words or symbols D. Hats, sweatbands, bandanas, or sunglasses inside school buildings. E. Clothing that is sheer or mesh. Undergarments that are visible. F. Sagging pants which cause undergarments to be visible. G. Footwear that may present a hazard to health or safety.
