Brier Creek has one desktop lab with 30 iMac computers in it. This lab is flexibly scheduled to accommodate teachers doing Project Based Learning lessons with their students.

Each teacher also has a laptop and two computers in their classrooms. Brier Creek's teachers do an excellent job of integrating technology into the curriculum. At our school, technology is not another THING to teach, it is another WAY to teach. Teachers use computers and other technology to reinforce the skills and competencies they are teaching in the classroom.

Our school has Smartboards in each classroom that teachers and students may use.  It is mounted on the wall which allows teachers to interact with the computer from the front of the classroom. Each classroom also has a data projector and document camera.

We have 32 SMART
Response clickers and 32 CPS Student Response clickers
that teachers may check out through the media center to use with their students.

The network at Brier Creek is very different from the network teachers and students are accustomed to. In order to help facilitate the changes in the network and encourage teachers to use technology effectively, Davidson County Schools has assigned Sue Tobin, Instructional Technology Facilitator, to work with Brier Creek's teachers. Mrs. Tobin conducts staff development, plans with teachers, and helps facilitate technology instruction in the school.
