Silver Valley Elementary School PTO Read-2-Soar Program

Read-2-Soar is a program the PTO is providing to encourage children to read.  Reading is such a vital part of a child's education and it takes everyone to encourage children to read.  Your child will need your  help in completing this program and we ask that you take a few moments each day to help your child succeed.

To participate in the program each student must complete their reading log provided by the teacher each month. Each teacher will set the standards for the reading log for their classroom.

When the student completes their reading log for the month, they will receive a small prize.

After completing the reading log for two consecutive quarters the student will receive a tee shirt (one tee shirt per child each school year).  

  When the student successfully completes all four quarters they will receive a certificate and be entered in a drawing for a bike.

The quarters will run as followed:  

•   1st quarter  Sept. - Oct.
•  2nd quarter  Nov. - Dec.
  
•  3rd quarter  Jan.- Feb.
•  4th quarter Mar. - Apr.

The PTO's goal is to encourage family reading time and hopes that each and every parent will take the time to help their child complete this program and develop a love for reading and become life-long readers.

Time: 5:00 pm til 8:00 pm

Date: 2nd Tuesday of each month

Place:  Wendy's   - 1 Cloniger Drive, Thomasville

Please drop your receipt in the appropriate box so that you support Silver Valley Elementary School. This includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends...anyone who supports your school that night. Plus it is a fun social event.
