School Improvement Team
2012-2014


The school improvement team is an important group in providing suggestions and guidance to our school. It is composed of the entire faculty as well as a parent and student representative. Its primary focus is upon the development of an annual school improvement plan.  For the last several years Ms. Antoinette South and Ms. Donna Hillanbrand served on this team. Their terms have ended.

For the 2012-2014 school years, if you are interested in serving or know of another parent, please note in the following section.  Following the receipt of suggestions we will have a voting/ballot process for the finalist for 2012-2013 and 2013-2014. The top individual who received the most votes will serve as a representative for the current year to be followed by the second highest for the subsequent year.

Addendum:

  Parents, the state of NC is transitioning to a new accountability model that includes EOCs, ACT, and tests in subjects previously not tested. These tests will be referred to as Measures of Student Learning and are designed to track student growth by teacher and subject. They are likely to be implemented, beginning in the fall '12 semester. Such tests may necessitate a change in the exam exemption policy for the district. At least the possibility exists. As we obtain more information it will be shared with you and our students. Thank you!
