Leadership Team Meeting
July 23, 2014
Attendees: Amy DeReamer, Kelly Smith, Leah Leonard, Erin Kepley, Elizabeth Hester, Christy Hepler, Deanna Walser, Tonya Baity, Cindy Fulbright
*Reviewed Davidson County's guidelines for a school improvement team.
*Cindy Fulbright made a motion for Amy DeRemer to be chair and Erin Kepley made a second to the motion.
*Amy DeRemer made a motion for Tonya Baity to be secretary and Christie Hepler made a second to the motion
*Reviewed working condition survey. After discussion regarding grade level comments the leadership committee unanimously agreed that a strong focus would be placed on positivity for the upcoming year. Positivity toward colleagues will only assist in the growth of our students.
*Announcement will be made at 2:15 for daily transportation changes
*Enrichment on Thursday and Friday
*Kindergarten will be Tuesday afternoons
*Guidance/Computer Lab has been added to Enrichment. Teachers will be responsible for providing lesson plans for Computer Lab
*Will consider different ideas for monitoring student progress
Facilities and Resources
*Teachers will receive 3 boxes a year and if more paper is needed you will need to see Mrs. Leonard.
Managing Student Conduct
*Provide teachers with copy of bus referral form so that teacher is aware of consequence.
*Student handbook was reviewed and necessary corrections were made.
*Students WILL NOT be allowed to ride an alternate bus. Students will not be allowed to ride home with friends on the bus.
*Students will receive a copy of handbook (be on yellow paper) and it will also be on the website.
*Media Center Check-out schedule in order to have someone to check out books for students.
*Grade levels will determine the time that is best for their individual grade level. Students will only go once a week.
*Book Buddy schedule, same as last year
*Looked at new rotation for students to be monitored in the morning.
*Grade levels will be responsible for morning and afternoon duty schedules on a weekly basis.
*Enrichment schedules were reviewed
*Media, Computer Lab and Guidance were added to the rotation.
*Mrs. Key will need to provided with lesson plans in advance. Teachers should not hand her plans at the last minute.
*Internet Safety Lessons will need to be done earlier in the year vs. at the end.
*Grade levels will work together to create a Master Schedule. Mrs. Leonard has prepared a draft that can be reviewed and revised.

PBIS will determine the consequences for yellow and orange
ROAR Club: Positivity Rewards for outstanding students. Students will accumulate points to each day which will allow them to attend an ice cream party quarterly.
Each Quarter Mrs. Leonard and our AP will come to each class to give pencil and certificates for honor roll or perfect attendance.
Consider mini-sessions for tutoring beginning in November. Then, begin tutoring in January and look at possibly tutoring in the mornings. Tutor one morning a week. You choose how many students you want to tutor. These sessions would run until EOGs Grade levels will need to discuss options.

Will have technology training this year that is already scheduled and is on Google Calendar.
Grades 3-5 iPad App training
Grades K-2 Mini-boot camp
Beginning in March will determine any additional technology training that is needed
Feeder Pattern Alignment. Will partner with grade levels at Reeds to share ideas and brainstorm what is working and not working to grow students.
Some committees will be combining to create new committee
Curriciulum: PST, Media and Technology
Behavioral: PBIS, focus on student behavior and ways of effective improvement
Positivity Committee: Will include Sunshine Committee
Parental Involvement: Work with Lead Teacher to plan Title One Nights
