Using your SMARTboard Interactively *Project what's under your document camera & highlight/annotate on item(s) *Work on maps skills with smartboard gallery resources or online resources - Scribble Maps (annonate & share Google Maps) --if you are just writing you don't need scribble maps..open Google Earth & use your smartboard pens to write on the maps *Daily language (sentence, paragraph, passage)-Have kids come up and make changes using editing and proofreading marks. Use highlighter tool to highlight nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. ---Also can be used for writing: edit student writing or other writing sample *Grammar practice- scramble words from a sentence and have the kids rearrange them to create their own sentences. (text splitter tool- Notebook Lesson activity Toolkit 2.0 ) --could do with a passage too
*Spelling practice- scramble letters from a word and have the kids rearrange them to create as many new words as they can (text splitter tool)
*Grammar practice- Use text splitter to split the words from a passage & sort them into noun, verb, adjective, etc. *Illustrate and write a book as a class. Use the record feature to narrate the text (can even add object animation) *Model a math problem using gallery manipulatives (teacher or students) *Create an electronic word wall or class dictionary *Work with any application on your computer (ex. Comic Life, Kidspiration/ Inspiration) - teacher or student can control that application from the board to demonstrate it, annotate to give di rections, or work collaboratively with the resource *Brainstorm on any topic ---once words or ideas is written they can be moved/re-organized/sorted/grouped *Create centers & use the object animation or record feature to make a directions page with an example for the activity *Create board game centers - (using SMARTboard templates or online sites) *Create review games -online flash games (see interactive resources below for more sites) -koosh ball notebook file (see your ETS for an example of this or download one from the Smart Exchange) *Take a Virtual Field Trip ( Google Earth Field Trip Resources , Cool Places in Google Earth , Google Earth Outreach Showcase , Google Earth Lessons , Real World Math , Google Lit Trips , Virtual Field Trip Webcam Feeds ) - Scholastic Internet Field Trips (K-2 is selected...click on other tabs to see subject sites - Colorado River Canyon 3D Tour ( free 3D Glasses ) - 3D Microscopy (Science images) - Internet 4 Classroom - Virtual Field Trips *Video conference with another class, an author, or an expert (you will need Skype loaded on your computer)
