Battle of the Books 

South Davidson Middle School participates in the North Carolina Battle of the Books. This is a team competition, with students from one school competing against other schools answering questions in a quiz-bowl type format. All of the questions are based on the twenty-seven books selected by the state committee each year. 

The Davidson County Schools competition was held on Feb. 28, 2013. We are very proud of our team. they were great representatives for South Davidson Middle School.

We are now starting to prepare for the 2013-2014 competion in February of 2014. The new book list is posted below.

To be considered for the competition team, students in grades six through eight must: 

• participate in the book discussions and practice rounds
• attend BOB meetings   
• learn to work with a team to answer the questions 
• read at least 6 of the 27 books on the list

To get started, just pick a book and start reading.
