Vacant positions are posted on this web site. To be considered for a vacancy,a letter of interest and a current resume for each position must be submitted to the contact person listed with the vacancy before the application deadline. Letters and resumes can be mailed/faxed to: HR Department, Davidson County Schools, PO Box 2057, Lexington NC 27293-2057/ fax number (336)242-5618 or emailed to the HR contact listed with each position. Application and references(3) must be on file before an applicant can be recommended for hire. Applications will be screened, and candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
To complete an application, visit http://schooljobs.dpi.state.nc.us/ . At this site, new users need to click the "New Users" button to create a username and password and to enter registrant information to create an electronic application. In addition to the electronic application, you must also send in three reference forms, copies of college transcripts, and copies of teaching licenses, if you are licensed. Click here to print the reference forms. Ask three individuals who know your work history to complete a form and return to the above address.
While we prefer applications on line, paper copies of the application may be obtained by contacting the HR Department.
Lateral Entry Applicants
Davidson County Schools values all applicants for teaching positions. Licensed teacher candidates are given first priority in the interviewing process. If the licensed candidate pool of applicants does not fill the need for a particular position, then lateral entry applicants are considered.
Applications submitted by lateral entry candidates who have already begun pursuing certification in the required licensure area will be reviewed first from the pool of lateral entry applicants.
The process for completing an application as a lateral entry teacher is the same as that for licensed teachers. The application process is described in the preceding paragraphs.
Lateral entry candidates must complete the Effective Teacher Training course. Davidson County Community College offers the course. Below is the direct link to course dates and enrollment:
