Davidson County Schools Food Policy: When bringing in food products for your child's class it is required that the food be commercially prepared. No ice or water-based products may be brought to school from a private water supply such as a well or spring.

Rolling Bookbag Policy: Rolling bookbags are not allowed at Friedberg Elementary because they present a safety hazard in the hallways, in the classroooms, and on the buses. Several staff members and children have tripped on them as students tried to manuever them down hallways. Since there is no storage within classrooms, they take up considerable floor space and block passageways. In the event of an evacuation, they would be especially hazardous. They are also a safety hazard on buses because they jut into the aisles. Finally they damage school floors, sometimes gouging the tile. Thank you for adhering to this policy.

Busing: Transportation to our school is provided as a service to you and we encourage you to take advantage of this service. If it is necessary for your student to ride a different bus, get off at a different stop, be a car rider, or have a change in afternoon transportation, we must have a written note from you.

Parental Involvement: Our school encourages parents to take an active role in their children's education. Parent volunteers assist teachers at all grade levels and many volunteer to help on school-wide projects.
