2017 Teacher Assistant of the Year!

District 5 - Davidson County

Sarah Jack

District 5 Education and Human Relations Chair, Dixie Black, is pleased to announce that Sarah Jack has been selected as the NCATA-District 5 Teacher Assistant of the Year for 2017-18.  In order to be selected teacher assistants must put together a portfolio, and go for an interview with their District EHR Committee.  District winners are selected from among county winners who run for District Teacher Assistant of the Year.

Sarah Jack began her dream of being a teacher at Pilot Elementary School as a teacher assistant in March of 2007.  Over the last 10 years she has worked with all elementary grade levels but finds that she loves working with kindergarten.

She has been a member of both the Davidson County and North Carolina Association of Teacher Assistants since September 2007.  She holds an Intermediate Level PDP Certificate through the NCATA’s Professional Development Plan.  Sarah will be receiving her Advanced Level PDP at the state conference in April of 2017.   She is grateful for the experiences that have enabled her to help her students to know that there is someone who loves and cares for them.  Sarah’s hobbies are making stained glass windows, knitting and crocheting, reading, farming, cooking and baking.

Congratulations to the 2016-17 School Level
