Spring Break Message | Dr. Lipe 2020
As we begin our Spring Break I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support as we continue to navigate this very challenging situation.
From the very beginning of this mandatory school closure, we made a commitment to staying connected with each of our 18,300 students. I am very proud of the ways we have done that through the learning opportunities our teachers have created as well as the meal service we have provided serving a total of 244, 181 meals to our students during this time. Additionally, we made a commitment to keeping our buildings safe for all as well as doing all that we can to protect the salary and benefits of our dedicated employees.
It has been a long four weeks, but as I reflect on the work that has been done on all fronts I could not be more proud of each and every person who makes this district the very special place that it is. I would like to thank all of our students, staff, parents, and Board of Education members for their patience during this time. No doubt--we will get through this together! We love our students and our staff and things truly aren’t the same when they aren’t on our campuses. I wish you all a very safe, restful, and happy spring break and we will look forward to resuming our remote instruction on Monday, April 20.
