Testing Information Memo - Title 1
Title I Parent Notification: Student Assessments
As part of the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), all Title I schools are required to inform families about the assessments their child may take during the school year.
-
Parents of students attending Title I-funded schools will receive a memo each year with important information about:
-
The state and local tests students may be given.
-
The purpose of each test.
-
How often the tests are given and how long they take.
-
Whether the test is required by the state, district, or school.
-
This communication helps families understand how assessments are used to measure student progress and guide instruction.
Each school or the district will send this information at the start of the school year, so families know what to expect.
If you have any questions about the assessments or how they support learning, please contact your child’s school or the district’s Testing and Accountability Office.
