Teacher Assistant of the Year
District 5 - Davidson County
Sandra Strupe has been selected as NCATA District 5 Teacher Assistant of the Year for 2020-2021. She is also 1st Runner-Up for the state Teacher Assistant of the Year.
Sandra has been a teacher assistant for 17 years. She has worked in every elementary grade level and drives a school bus for the middle and high school. She has learned over the years, that all children learn at different paces and different ways. She enjoys working with children that need extra help and finding out what way helps them learn best.
Sandra has been a member of the Davidson County and North Carolina State Association of Teacher Assistants for since 2010. She has served as Davidson County Teacher Assistant Association President and currently is servering her 2nd term as NCATA District 5 President. She has also served as NCATA’s District 5 Legislative Chair. She holds an Advanced Level PDP through the NCATA’s Professional Development Plan.
Sandra has been married to Robert Strupe for 27 years. She has 2 daughters, one son-in-law, one son-in-law to be and one grand-dog. Sandra’s enjoys working in the audio/visual department at her church, bicycling, target shooting, and spending time with her family.
