Teacher Assistant of the Year
District 5 - Davidson County

Pamela Moretz

Congratulations to Pamela Moretz

Pamela Moretz has been selected as the NCATA-District 5 Teacher Assistant of the Year for 2019-2020.

In order to be selected, teacher assistants must compile a portfolio and interview with the District EHR committee. District winners are selected from among county winners who run for District Teacher Assistant of the Year.

Pam began working in the Davidson County school system in 2001. Pam worked part time driving a school bus and worked in the school cafeteria for many years prior to being hired full time as a teacher assistant. Pam has always loved working with children and wanted to work more closely with the students to make a difference in a child’s life.

She now works with a child one on one. She has learned over the years that children are the ones that have made a difference in her life. She enjoys learning new things everyday not only with the students but also with her colleagues.

She has been a member of the Davidson County and North Carolina State Association of Teacher Assistants since 2002. She holds an Advanced Level PDP Certificate through the NCATA’s Professional Development Plan. She enjoys going to conferences and continues to learn information to share in the classroom.

Pam has been married for 39 years to Ricky Moretz. She has two sons, a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. Pam’s hobbies are camping with family and going to sports activities to watch her three grandchildren.
