Southwood Media Center 2022

Davidson County Schools library media centers are instructional spaces that promote critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. School Library Media Coordinators promote reading as a foundational skill of learning and create a foundation for lifelong learning with a focus on student achievement.

Each school library media center is staffed by a licensed school library media coordinator who delivers instruction aligned to the NC Digital Learning Standards for Students.

School library media centers provide collections of print and digital resources that have been selected to complement, enrich or extend the curriculum, taking into consideration the individual needs and varied interests, abilities, socio-economic backgrounds, learning styles and developmental levels of the students served.
