Read to Achieve Required Reporting

Read to Achieve (RtA) Reporting Information for Families

As part of North Carolina’s Read to Achieve (RtA) law, every school district and charter school is required to share a summary report about student reading progress each year.

  • This district-level report will be posted on the school district's website by September 1 and submitted to the State Board of Education.

  • The report includes information about how well students are reading and how schools are supporting students who need extra help.

  • Individual schools are not required to post their own report, but the district may choose to include those reports on its website.

To help meet this requirement, the state provides each district and charter school with a report template each summer. These reports are carefully checked for accuracy before being published.

If you have questions about the report or how reading progress is measured, please reach out to the district's Accountability and Testing Office.
